8th OCTOBER

LATEST NEWS

Tables have been updated for this weeks results. No real surprises anywhere.
This brings us to the end of the first round of fixtures and with a further
two rounds to go there's only four points separating the top three.

At the top congratulation go to the Claremont for remaining unbeaten so far
and I'm sure a number of teams below them will be looking to change that in
the coming fixtures.

At the bottom Newstead "B" are still pointless, which on a certain daily TV
program (BBC 5pm) would actually win you the top prize, however unfortunately
in this league it doesn't so I'm sure they are hoping to pick up their first
win fairly soon.

VIRUS on this SITE

After much messing around I finally managed to get Google to recind the "dodgy
site" message that was being put out. I hope the problem has gone for good. Still
not sure what actually caused the problem but I'll continue to monitor the site
for any future problems. Apologies to all who weren't able to access the site over
the last few days.

INDIVIDUALS AND PAIRS

The bit that everybody has been waiting for. The draws for the pre-lim of the
individuals and the first round of the pairs have been made and uploaded to this
site.

The individuals is a prelim - there are 27 matches and 37 byes. Matches are to be
played on the board of the first named player on Monday October 20th.

The pairs are 16 groups, with four pairs in each group and only one winner going
through to the next round. Venues are still to be arranged.

(The draw for the early rounds of these competitions are made using a Random Number
Generator from the internet)

waiting for me when I got back.

I hope to have the draw for the Individuals competition done sometime early this
week and will post it as soon as it has been made.

Claremont's coat tails. At the bottom Arkles record their first points of the season

19th AUGUST

LATEST RESULTS

The two remaining undefeated teams met last night. Claremont quickly raced into
a 4-1 lead against Newstead "A" with two players both starting with a 160 to record
eleven and twelve dart games. Newstead rallied to bring it back to 4-3 but Claremont
took the next game to take the match 5-3 and finally finishing 5-4. On the night
Claremont produced the better darts when it mattered and took a much deserved two
points.

Queen of Martyrs kept up their chase with a win over pointless Arkles, while Cuffs
beat St Cecelia's to stay level with Newstead "A" and Queen of Marty's in second place.

Elsewhere both Ship and Mitre teams suffered defeat with the "A" team losing to Liver
Vaults and the "B" team losing to Glasshouse.

"Its a marathon not a sprint" - With the season not even a third of the way through
there are still plenty of points to play for and possible twists and turns along the way.
